Shubin Nadal Realty Investors ("SNRI") is a real estate development and investment company founded in 2010 by real estate veterans Bill Shubin and Lonnie Nadal. The company's focus is value add urban infill acquisition and development deals that need repositioning, renovation, or new construction. By concentrating on prime infill locations, SNRI is able to mitigate the market risk that stems from overbuilding.
Prior to forming SNRI, Bill Shubin operated Strategic Realty Investors, Inc. ("SRI"). From 2004 to 2007, SRI's focus was the implementation of a plan to assemble a portfolio of institutional quality warehouse/distribution buildings with Morgan Stanley Real Estate. SRI has also provided consulting services to AMB Property Corp., BlackRock Realty, Legacy Partners, RREEF, and the United States Steel and Carnegie Pension Fund.
Prior to founding SRI in 2004, Mr. Shubin was a Partner in the Southern California office of Legacy Partners, where he was responsible for the acquisition and development of office and industrial properties with an acquisition volume of $384 million and development volume of $100 million. From 1988-1994 Mr. Shubin was a Senior Vice President with Prentiss Properties Limited, with overall responsibility for Prentiss’ West Coast industrial and office portfolio. Prior to Prentiss Properties, Mr. Shubin was a partner with the Southern California Commercial Division of Lincoln Property Company. Mr. Shubin began his real estate career in 1977 with Ashwill-Burke & Company, a commercial real estate brokerage, where he focused on industrial real estate sales and leasing transactions.
Lonnie Nadal was formerly the president of Nadal Realty Group, Inc (NRG), a private real estate investment, development, and services company located in Newport Beach, California. Mr. Nadal founded NRG in 2008, with the intent of purchasing quality real estate assets from distressed sellers in the turbulent economic climate at that time. NRG focused on multi-family, commercial, and industrial assets along the West Coast of the US.
Prior to forming Nadal Realty Group, Lonnie Nadal was a senior executive in several real estate companies, all located in Southern California. He began his career in 1979 with CBRE-First Newport as an asset manager managing REO assets throughout the US. Then he was a Development Partner with Lincoln Property Company for a decade of his career, developing and purchasing industrial/commercial properties throughout Southern California. He was then the Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Development and one of the founding officers with Pacific Gulf Properties, a publicly-traded REIT which purchased and developed multi-family and industrial properties from Texas to California. Most recently, he was Managing Director of Acquisitions with Security Properties Inc, a private owner/developer of multi-family assets along the West Coast.
During his 30 year career, Mr. Nadal has developed, purchased, entitled, financed, managed, leased, and disposed of over $4 billion in real estate assets in every product class and market in the USA. He has developed approximately 5 million square feet of commercial, industrial space, and several hundred multi-family units. Mr. Nadal has purchased or developed these various projects with a prestigious list of institutional clients and partners, including Aetna Life Insurance, Principal Life, Prudential Securities, Cargill Investors, Freemont Savings Bank, GMAC Institutional Investors, CapMark Investments, and the Tuckerman Group.
